Boys Varsity Basketball vs. Caldwell High School

Wildcats Win: 70.00 - 43.00
On January 20th, the Columbia Wildcats would defeat Caldwell High School with a score of 70-43 to cap off the first round of conference play. The Wildcats went up early thanks to a strong performance by Freshman standout Max Keller who ended the day with 19 points on 7-15 from the field. The Southpaw would also add 5 assists, 5 rebounds, and 1 block during the midday contest. Johnny Rodriguez once again caught fire from 3 going 3-7 from deep and notching 13 points himself. Junior Forward, Blake Hansen, would also add 11 points as he continues to be a dominant force on both ends of the floor in the 4a SIC Conference. The Wildcats will look to begin their second round of conference play against the 2nd place Ridgevue Warhawks on January 24th.

Wildcats Lose: 60.00 - 62.00
An overtime thriller ends in heartbreak for the Columbia Wildcats against Skyview High School. In the final minutes of the 4th quarter, the Columbia Wildcats had 3 players reach the foul limit but continued to battle against one of 4a's most explosive offenses. The Wildcats were led by Blake Hansen with 20 points followed by Johnny Rodriguez and Eli Smith who both added 16 points to the total. After tying the game at the end of regulation with a buzzer beater by Mr. Rodriguez assisted by Bryce Pruett, the Columbia Boys Basketball team would go down early in overtime before pulling within 2 and giving themselves yet another chance to win the contest. Final score was 62-60 in favor of the crosstown rivals. Huge shoutout to all of Wildcat Nation that came out and supported the boys on NEON night!

Wildcats Lose: 64.00 - 68.00
In their second conference game of the year, the Columbia Wildcats fell to the Vallivue Falcons in a game that was decided in the last two minutes. As time expired, freshman guard Max Keller launched a three from deep to tie the game at 60 and send it into overtime. The Wildcats were led in scoring by Junior G Blake Hansen who had 24 points on 11/12 from the free throw line. Johnny Rodriguez added 14 points and Eli Smith 10 points. In overtime, The final score was 68-64 Vallivue.

Wildcats Lose: 51.00 - 56.00
The conference home-opener against the Ridgevue Warhawks sure lived up to the hype on Tuesday night. The Columbia Varsity team found themselves in a competitive shootout against one of the conference's strongest programs. The Wildcats would lead for most of the game and entered halftime up 2 points. Despite strong offensive performances from Bryce Pruett (14), Johnny Rodriguez (11), and Blake Hansen (10), the game would eventually come down to the wire resulting in a 56-51 loss for the Wildcats. The Varsity team will be eyeing a Christmas Tournament Championship when they head to Parma High School December 28-30th and continue conference play on Thursday, January 4th at Vallivue High School.
